Herfnerd Posted November 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2016 They should accept USD but make sure you have smaller bills - you may get change back in Bahamian dollars

Return trip will be a regular union cab... $18 for 2 ppl plus $3 for ea. add'l person, plus tip. Day passes should be available same day unless you are traveling during a holiday week, or there is an event or wedding taking place. Call from the dock when you arrive, and have a back up plan. The #10 jitney bus will get you there for $1.25 pp and drops you just outside the front door. Buses run until 6pm. Ncgoirish Posted December 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2016 We went to Melia on December 13, 2016. We took the #10 jitney bus from near the cruise port. There are bus stop signs in town with the route numbers and the bus itself has #10 on it. There are also security/traffic officers around to ask. The price per person for a one-way trip was $1.25 US dollars and you pay as you get off the bus. We bought our Melia day passes at the resort front desk for $45.00 which included a voucher for one beverage at their Starbucks. Pass is good from 9 am to 5 pm. It included towels, chair, pools, beach. Did not include use of standup paddle boarding or kayaking equipment.
cruiseapril Posted December 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2016 We have taken the taxi and bus to or from the Melia. Be sure to get back to the ship an hour before sailing.
nursenan Posted April 13, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2017 We are thinking about the Melia for a day pass the end of May, we will have a 17 month old , 2 children and 3 adults. I figured with the stroller, a taxi would be better option, any ideas of how much to and from the cruise port this would be. Thank you for any information.
