alezal32 Posted November 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2016 Hello Everyone, Do you have to complete the rope course to walk the plank? Is there a charge? Do they close for high winds? Has anyone slipped and dangled in the harness? I'd love to hear from those who have had the experience. Thank you Mary
pieshops Posted November 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2016 Hello Everyone, Do you have to complete the rope course to walk the plank? Is there a charge? Do they close for high winds? Thank you Mary The plank is about halfway though so you can't just go out and do the plank so you kind of have to complete No charge Yes they close for High winds Yes I slipped and dangled , it's not that bad. The top part is pretty tight so if you fall off and dangle you really don't have to pull yourself up, just put your feet back on at least at my height I am not afraid of heights but when it came time to walk the plank my feet would not move, you know you are safe but still. It was a blast. Make sure you pull the rope and get a selfie out on the plank
billx25 Posted November 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2016 I did it on the last day at sea and there were very high winds and the ship was rocking a bit. The plank was closed when I got to that point. I would do it when the ship is at Port or just leaving when it is going a bit slower. You have to dangle at the end to go down sort of a zip line to exit. The sign says no cameras but they were letting people with go pros with the head gear attached use them. LrgPizza Posted November 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2016 FYI - The Escape has 2 planks, but you don't have to finish the ropes course to do either - you just have to participate in the ropes course. (No clue which ship you'll sail, so though I'd add that.)
