Cabin pricing based upon location

:confused: We just received our 2006 brochure from Oceania. We noted that there are now 16 classes of cabins, compared to the 10 classes listed in the 2005 brochure. The cabin price is now based upon where the cabin is located, (fore, mid-ship or aft). Has anyone noted any other creeping increases?

Perhaps Oceania "borrowed" the idea from Princess, which has 22 categories of cabins on their two former Renaissance ships, sisters to Oceania's, the Pacific Princess and Tahitian Princess.

 

Princess also dropped the passenger capacity to 670, turning the other cabins over to crew cabins. Princess found they needed a slightly larger crew for how they operate the ships.

I didn't compare 2005 with 2006 fares, but, all in all, liked the split of PH into 3 categories. We have no problems with motion and were therefore happy to get all the PH benefits in the least expensive of 3 categories.
