Snorkel or Scuba at or near G T cruise port

Does anyone know if there are places to rent snorkel gear or possibly do an intro scuba class at the cruise center / beach area

You'll need to either sign up for a ship excursion, if offered, or with one of the other private vendors to do intro scuba. The ship excursions will leave off an excursion dock just to the right of the main dock. The other vendors have docks downtown but may pick you up at another location.

 

As far as snorkel gear at the cruise port/beach maybe one of the other beach clubs up toward jacks Shack will carry them, but they are not in a good snorkeling area. Better snorkeling is down beyond the excursion pier and, IMO, it's okay but not great. Everyone I've seen snorkeling there was using their own gear.
