How does Viking Air Plus work? Do you call them (after you've paid the $50pp) and give them the flight numbers and dates you want to book? Are you allowed to be that specific? Do they book with you on the phone or do they get back with you at a later date? I want to be prepared when I call them. We have booked and paid for a VRC in July 2017.

If you have a travel agent, you call your travel agent and tell them what you want and they work out the details for you with Viking. You are then told what the possibilities will be, and given the upcharge amount if applicable, and you can then decide.

If you booked directly with Viking, you will call them and tell them what you want, they will tell you what they can do, and what if any upcharges apply for that, and you accept or decline. They can give you a few options, usually while you are on the phone.

We always book directly with Viking--we do not use a TA.

 

Do your research ahead of time and know what your flight numbers are. We live in MN so we prefer to use Delta and fly in and out of MSP to AMS. They are very accommodating.
