San Pedro Pier 93

We are sailing out on a Saturday and our flight gets in about 9am is there anything to do around the pier (walking) or are we better eating at airport and get a later shuttle? We'd book later flight but with winter weather and wanting a direct flight to void delays at other airports we don't want to chance issues. Any ideas?

Take uber to ports of call village, maybe a mile or two away.

On second thought, you could walk it....

Nice place to walk around, and fantastic to get lunch. You pick out your own fresh fish and they'll cook it for ya, fairly reasonably priced.

By the time you get to the pier they will be taking luggage.

We sometimes take a quick cab over to Long Beach.

Checking the Port of LA cruise ship schedule, sailing from Pier 93 you're sailing the Ruby Princess. That's our homeport and we always arrive by 10:30, checked in by 11:00 and onboard the ship by noon to begin our cruise. We qualify for priority boarding but it shouldn't be too much later for other passengers.

The battleship USS Iowa is adjacent to the other cruise ship terminal (Pier 92) and is about a 10 minute walk.

Here's a recent thread with other things to do near the port but we prefer to board the ship ASAP.

An aerial view of the area surrounding the cruise ship terminal (SS Lane Victory is now elsewhere in the harbor).

I would agree about heading over to San Pedro. Even on Saturday, there tends to be a lot of traffic, especially around the airport. Once at the port, you should be able to check in your luggage. and hopefully have just a short wait to get onboard. You didn't say when you're going but so far winter has been on the wet side (we need the rain).
