Karysa Posted January 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Hi, Will be in GC in February and looking for Beach Bars that provide free loungers for customers. :) Thanks in advance.
blue_water Posted January 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Rum Point has free lounges and picnic tables (last we were staying on GCM at least) and is a great spot away from SMB. Need a rental car for the 45 min drive but so worth it if you have time. The Wreck bar serves a great grouper BLT and their original mudslides...:)

Royal Palms has a 3.00 admission and free poolside chairs. Chairs on the beach are 10.00.
Karysa Posted January 4, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Thanks. We have been to rum point on an excursion before and really enjoyed it so that was on my list. We will try the Palms on a slow cruiseship day as that place gets quite a bit of mention on here.:)
blue_water Posted January 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2017 Yes we enjoyed Royal Palm when there on a cruise and more recently when staying at the Marriott which is a short walk. We prefer the north end and Rum Point and Kaobi beach. Not sure if Kaobi lounges are free, but drink prices are reasonable, and it's a nice spot to relax on the beach and see starfish. We stopped there a couple times, once on jet skis with Fat Fish Adventures (highly recommend). I know they had a water taxi option but can't remember where it departs from, someone else may be able to help with that. If not it is worth the 45 min drive if you want something other than SMB... bookbabe Posted January 5, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2017 Thank you for the information. We will add Kaobi beach to our must visit list.:) Water taxis to the Kaibo supposedly leave from Camana Bay. There was another thread here recently with info. You can find more info on the Kaibo here: http://kaibo.ky/kaibomobile/about_kaibo_beach.php Keep in mind that it is a 50 minute drive each way from the port by land, and you'd need a rental car. Yes if the water taxi was practical/feasible that would be a nice option, you'd have to check on that. We enjoyed taking the free cat from Safehaven dock to Rum Point for dinner while staying on the island, I see that's $5pp now. Still a great deal!
