Carnival Victory Cruise Delay

Are cruisers sailing on the Carnival Victory still experiencing delays leaving Miami? We sail this month and I'm hoping all the cabin updates (and any delays) will be complete by our sail date.

We left Monday. We weren't suppose to be delayed for bringing supplies on board, but ended up delayed leaving Miami due to another issue. Rumor was a gun in packed luggage, but don't know.

I sailed on December 19th, and was sent an email that boarding wasn't starting until 1:30 pm. I got there at 1:00, and boarding started much earlier. I'm always one of the first ones to get there, but decided to get there later since they sent that email. I was on deck 7, and all of the cabins were updated. They look absolutely beautiful. We set sail at 6:00.

I'm looking forward to the updated cabins! I saw the video on YouTube and the updated cabins look a lot like the cabins on the Carnival Breeze. Hopefully, our departure goes smoothly. We were delayed when we traveled on the Breeze this past June and then on the second night of the cruise my teen slipped down the stairs and injured an ankle. This is the cruise to makeup for "the one we'd like to forget."

We were on deck 8, didn't have a new cabin, but it was still good!

Updates are definitely not completed. They were working on 7 in mid December. From what I gather reading stuff here and elsewhere, it sounds like they took a break for the holiday. They are working their way up and guess that 8 is next. I got my e-mail regarding the delay about 3 days before our cruise.
