starfamily Posted November 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2005 I just watched that great video made by the pancake family and have a question. I LOVED the look of that aft pool, it seems so close to the ocean and private. Please tell me that is not the pool that is off limits to my 12 year old son as I can see the three of us being so happy there away from the crowds. (obviously if that IS the pool he is not allowed in I won't go there but I sure hope we can )
HighLordDave Posted November 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2005 The pool at the front of the boat, near the Lotus Spa, has a sign up on it that says children must be accompanied by adults between noon and 3 pm, but are otherwise prohibited. As far as I can recall, kids are welcome at all the other pools.
starfamily Posted November 9, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted November 9, 2005 I love the look of that pool and our cabin is aft on the dolphin deck so we can just zip right there!
cruzinwieds Posted November 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2005 The AFT pool on the Caribbean Princess was for adults only, don’t know about the Star.
starfamily Posted November 9, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted November 9, 2005 oh I hope on the star it is not for just adults! It looks like the perfect spot for us
cruzinwieds Posted November 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2005 On the 11/20 cruise there will be plenty of kids, you need a place to escape.
SaylorGirl Posted November 9, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2005 I was on the Star in September and I believe the aft pool is for adults only. I could be wrong on this but I think it is an adult only pool.
starfamily Posted November 9, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted November 9, 2005 I would never dream of taking my son to an adult only area, I just wanted to know if the aft pool is ok or not. We are going on this trip as a family and want to spend time at the pool as a family- i will escape to the spa with my husband;)
starfamily Posted November 9, 2005 Author #9 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Boy i wish I knew............... My son is a well behaived low key 12 year old but I can certainly imagine some people being annoyed if he was there if it is only for adults, I guess i wil have to scope it out in advance. anthk333 Posted November 9, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 9, 2005 When I was on the Star previously, the aft pool was for adults only.
starfamily Posted November 9, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted November 9, 2005 This is SO confusing! Someone else told me that the adults only pool was the swim against the current pool, when I called princess the woman said there is only ONE adults only pool, I guess I will wait for when we get on the ship and find out which one it is :)
GloriaF Posted November 9, 2005 #12 Share Posted November 9, 2005 I have always heard the aft pool referred to as an adult pool on many Princess ships. That is not to say that should you go there with your son that you will be asked to leave and you may see other children there. But as I understand the intention of Princess, the aft and spa pools are to be adults only areas free of the noise of children playing. There are 5 pools on the Grand class ships such as the Star, aren't there? 2 uncovered in the center of the ship, 1 covered, the aft and the spa pool. Princess used to limit the number of children on each cruise, but since they were acquired by Carnival Corp that practice seems to have gone by the wayside. Perhaps the use of the pools has changed also.
stoneharborlady Posted November 10, 2005 #13 Share Posted November 10, 2005 On the CB both the Lotus Spa pool, and the aft Terrace pool are both adults only.

GloriaF Posted November 10, 2005 #16 Share Posted November 10, 2005 GloriaF]I have always heard the aft pool referred to as an adult pool on many Princess ships. This is true of all Grand Class ships - I should have said Grand Class rather than use the word many. I have cruised the Grand, CB, and Star in the Grand Class and know this is true. Thanks for the verification.
Shifra Posted November 10, 2005 #17 Share Posted November 10, 2005 The aft pool on the Star is definately an adult only pool. That does not mean you cannot use the rest of the aft deck area if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. You will love the Star Princess. Happy Cruising!:D
