Welzel04 Posted January 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2017 We leave in two weeks and as a first time NCL cruiser I'm nervous enough but I just read on Facebook that the Pearl pool drained or something?!?!? Please CALM ME!!!!
Rare blackwing Posted January 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Not sure what you read or where you saw it, but... 1. You're not leaving for two weeks. If there is indeed something wrong, don't you think that they will be able to do something about it before then? 2. What if there is indeed no pool? You're beyond final payment date. Whatever happens, you just have to make the most of it. If you go on to your first cruise with a negative attitude, you are going to be miserable. You're going on a cruise. Don't make yourself miserable over things that aren't within your control.
shark with a laser Posted January 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2017 They do drain the pools at times. Most ships I've been in have had them drained at embarkation, and they generally drain them at night when the ship picks up speed. OzzieMom Posted January 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Last week on the Pearl there was a day where the pool was partially drained and occasionally closed because the rough seas were causing BIG waves in the pool, enough to hurt if you got banged into the sides of the pool. It was refilled once the seas calmed. No worries, you will have a great cruise on the Pearl! Edited January 11, 2017 by OzzieMom
NancyW12 Posted January 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2017 @Welzel04- I am on the same cruise. Where can I find this Facebook page? The roll call on this site is dead. Thanks
Treacher1 Posted January 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 15, 2017 We had the pool drained and cleaned due to a child going to the bathroom in the pool - ugh - I think they are supposed to stay out if in diapers - jokingly we called this the poop deck - but was not funny at the time! s_mich Posted January 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2017 We noticed the pool was drained on our last day of cruising last week. It was out last port day, the pool had been drained in the early AM and by the time we were getting off for Key West there were a few guys inside the pool working on it. When we got back, the pool had been covered and astro-turf type stuff was put over it. Not sure what the deal was, but didn't matter to us since we had no time to use it anymore :P
