Shore Excursion in Miami before Airport transfer

Hi All,

It seems that MSC will disembark people early at the end of the Divina cruise but our flight back to the UK will not be until 17:15.

Shore excursions are offered for that day ending with a transfer to Miami airport.

Has anyone done this and if so where is your luggage left / kept for the day while you enjoy Miami. Do you load it on the excursion bus and it stays there until you arrive at the airport, or is it stored somewhere to be loaded to a transfer bus later in the day.

Comments please.

Phil

We haven't done this on MSC, but we have on other lines. Usually what happens is you meet in a separate area onboard on the morning of disembarkation. Your luggage has special tags saying that you are going on the excursion. As you collect your luggage when you disembark, you then bring it to your tour bus, and the luggage is stored in the 'belly of the bus' for the entire day. When you reach the airport at the end of the tour, you retrieve your luggage from the bottom of the bus.

Sometimes these tours are outrageously priced, and other times they are quite reasonably priced, when you consider that they include your transportation to the airport. We've done these a few times in Rome, where the airport is over an hour's drive from the port. I'm not sure how much value there is in that in Miami. You may want to consider renting a car and driving yourself (maybe over to Port Everglades?) around for the day.
