wild1apache Posted January 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Will be travelling with parents (70s), siblings (45) and kids (13 and 10), what is the best excursion that we would all enjoy? Is Chankanaab a good option? I know snorkeling would be something of interest. I would also like to go to Los Cinco Soles for shopping. Any ideas to incorporate both?... or what are some other ideas??
setexenv Posted January 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Check out Playa Mia and Mr. Sanchos. Not sure about Los Cinco Soles. Never been to Mr. Sanchos, but Playa Mia seems like a good place for families. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
setexenv Posted January 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Use Trip Advisor to examine both places. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
setexenv Posted January 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Chankanaab looks good also on trip advisor. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
JohninDC Posted January 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Chankanaab is a marine animal park; besides the animal shows and expensive options to swim with the dolphins, it also offers a nice beach, small pool and separate snorkel area. Adult admission is about $20 each. Sanchos, Playa Mia, and any club with a nice sandy beach will not offer good snorkeling. Great snorkeling from the shore at the Money Bar, but no beach. Good luck! :)
wild1apache Posted February 5, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Is the snorkel area at Chankanaab worth it? I don't see any excursions from Royal Caribbean to Chankanaab... I know years ago they offered an excursion...
JohninDC Posted February 5, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Good snorkeling from the shore at Chank in an area separate from the beach - they have some statues, etc. sunk in the water. Snorkeling from the shore at the Money Bar is another option, but no beach/pool, etc, for teens. Why not head to a beach club like Paradise Beach and then those who want to snorkel can take their snorkel tour (about $30+ for 90+ min.)?
