formal vs chic - Infinity - Panama Canal May 2017

Booked for May 2017 Westbound Panama Canal. After reading several entries, we are not quite sure what to make of "chic" vs formal. Celebrity tells me that almost 80% of guests dress "formal...tuxedo for men and long gowns for women." Is that accurate? We don't want to feel uncomfortable. What's the best advice?

What's the entertainment like in the clubs? Latin music? band?

80% ? Hardly:rolleyes:

If you want to dress formally on the elegant chic nights, then by all means do so. Just know that you will be in the minority. There will be a few men in tuxes but there will be plenty of men dressed in suits or blazers and slacks ( often without ties). Or even without a jacket at all. Ladies will run the gamut from a few ladies in formal gowns, to cocktail dresses, to evening pants and "fancy" tops, right down to "designer jeans" and a shirt. You are pretty much free to wear whatever you want, but most make an effort to dress up at least a bit more than usual.

The Celebrity forum on CC currently has at least 2 active threads on the chic nights. They aren't pretty.
