Rare Hlitner Posted January 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2017 Walking from the station to the palace would not be reasonable for most folks. Either take a taxi, or ask the tourist folks at the station which/where local bus takes you up to the Palace. Hank
Rare Host Bonjour Posted January 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2017 I am wondering from monaco train station can you walk to the changing of the guards or take a taxi.I am also reading that you should take the correct exit from the train station.choose wrong you will end up a long walk The Palace is already up high overlooking the city and so as Hank stated, for some, making the hike up from sea level - while not a significant climb for any climber - might be a challenge for some folks with some issues getting around. Or even if it was just a hot day. From where the train station is, well as you know Monaco is a tiny place so it doesn't take long but what it is about Monaco is the layout - none of the streets really FLOW into one another so you sort of wind back and forth getting to a place. Doesn't really add much of a hassle to the walk - but it's just something to factor in if indeed walking can be a challenge for some folks, that's all. Maybe take the taxi to and walk back? Just be mindful of the time schedule for 1) changing of the guard 2) time to walk back 3) train schedule If it's well planned you can manage it all just fine. Enjoy Monaco, it's special in it's own magical way :)
