Possible to visit local Sunset House or Eden Rock before our excursion?

Hi all, we are new to cruising and will be on RCCI mid March stopping at Grand Cayman. We booked an excursion (dolphin and turtle experience) thru the cruise, but doesn't leave until noon. We are early birds and would love to poke around the area before our excursion. Does RCCI allow that? If so, is it reasonable to go to Sunset or Eden prior to? Or other recommendations? Will have our 10 and 13 yo kids; they'll come along for anything, even if it is an early lunch with great views. [emoji4] thanks in advance!

Of COURSE they "allow" that! You can do whatever you want! No need for "excursions" at all, in fact! I'm not sure of the distances/time required for either of those, so google it, and make sure you will have time to meet your tour!

You'll likely meet somewhere in the pier area.

We spent most of the day at Sunset House on our first trip. It's great snorkeling for your ages and you can have a relaxed lunch before heading back. We're trying to decide between doing Sunset House again or a snorkeling trip this time. We'll have a 10yo and 13yo this time.

Especially with kids waiting for you, I'd do a quick snorkel at Eden Rock. Closer to the port area and has a restaurant with a waterfront patio for the kids to have a snack while they wait.

I would agree with this. My post above was supposed to indicate that Sunset House is more of a full day thing, although admittedly a lazy day. You'll be packing a lot in doing both Sunset House and a tour. My preference would be Sunset House as my friend took my daughter with her for the turtle and dolphin tour and was a little disappointed.
