Price Drop Help

Hello,

 

I never looked into this and I have read a couple of reviews which states price drops and OBC's.

 

So...

 

How does someone go about checking?

 

I booked through a cruise agent for a March 26 sailing on Carnival Splendor. It is a balcony room. I did a search and CC shows that balcony rooms have dropped.

 

Do I have a chance of getting something?

 

BTW- I had DW send a note to the cruise agent. But if he says no...does Carnival do anything?

Hi,

IF you booked through an agent then the agent has to get you the price drop. Carnival will not speak to you as the agent owns the booking.

You can check by doing a dummy/practice booking to see the prices but if your agent won't agree to get you the price drop then you cannot do anything about it.

I suppose you could try and transfer the booking back to Carnival and take it away from that agent but not sure how that works. I for sure would never use that agent again!!

Riff is correct. Booked thru an agent and Carnival can't talk to you.

 

If it is any consolation, unless you booked Early Saver rate, you are likely past final payment for that March sailing. Only ES can price match past final payment.

True! I didn't notice the cruise dates.

IF you have already paid in full you cannot get a price drop UNLESS you have booked the Early Saver rate originally.

The cruise agent said we booked a promo ($100 per cabin OBC) so we cant get a refund.

 

I asked if Carnival can up the OBC. I will wait and see.

 

I know I am pushing it but I might as well.

The key as others have mentioned is what rate you booked. Did you book early saver rate?

 

Would the rate drop be more than $100?

IF the cruise price drop is less than the $100 it won't pay as you'd lose the OBC.

NO, Carnival won't add more OBC for you.

Whatever that promo was that's it!
