Seababy62 Posted February 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2017 My husband and I are cruising Alaska mid May. He would dearly love to do a dog sledding tour across the snow. The tour on the ship is quite expensive as compared to the prices offered by independent operators we have sourced on google. Could readers please advise which way they went in booking a tour....ship or private....and what they thought of the tour in terms of value for money? We are also aware that the weather plays a big part in the operation of these tours....if you have been cancelled with a non ship tour, did you get a full refund and in good time? And is Mid May a good time weatherwise? We are open to dog tours in Juneau, Skagway, if anywhere that they might run, so long as there is snow involved! CruiserBruce Posted February 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2017 If you look over on the Alaska board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55 you will find lots of discussions on dog sledding.
fire&teacher Posted February 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2017 My family did the helicopter and dog sledding in Skagway. It was priceless. We booked with the Princess sponsored shore excursion for the guarantee. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
