Gluten Free on Allure of the Seas.

Recommended Posts

The dining room and Specialty dining areas were all accommodating for a gluten free diet. They have GF bread - I do believe it's Udi's. Not the most desirable but ok for a few days. Just ask the waiter to toast the bread. I thought it was better that way. At Sorrento's, they will make you a special GF pizza - takes maybe 10-15 min. And, GF cookies at the deli place in the Promenade - those were yummy! No GF pasta but there are plenty of other items to eat. We were on the Allure in Sept. Enjoy!

Recommended you do the following:

  • Contact RCCL's Special Needs Department
  • Sign into your on-line C&A account click on "Profile" than click on "Onboard Preferences". Scroll down to the bottom of the page and under "Dietary Needs" click on " No Gluten"
  • In the Windjammer and any other food venues other than the Main Dining always ask what's Gluten Free. The items generally are not marked.
  • In the main dining there are a free things noted on the menu each night with a wheat insignia that demotes gluten free. However if eating gluten free is based on a Medical need such a having Celiac's Disease than it's important you need to speak with the Matre d' each evening as he/she will show you the next evening menu for you to mark your selection as anything so that it will be properly prepared for the next evening. If eating gluten is not a life choice and is a medical need don't expect that the dining room can make changes that evening when you arrive for dinner. Pre-planning is the key with an medical issue.
  • on embarkation day head to the MDR after boarding to speak to a Matre'D so that you're wait staff is prepared for you eating Gluten Free.

Overall it's not hard to eat Gluten Free on a cruise. However it's important to note that sauces are a big concern as most are not gluten free so best to avoid them.
