momof1son Posted February 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2017 When we cruised on the Magic out of Galveston, we had to wait until we were boarded, then stand in line at Guest Services to put our cash on our account. When we said on the Legend out of Seattle, they let us put our cash on our account during check in. My question is - which way is it done in Miami? We are sailing on the Vista in March, and I'm trying to get my mind wrapped around all the differences.
Jeepenfun Posted February 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Back in April when we sailed on Splendor out of Miami we loaded our S&S card at the check in desk. And we even handed them $800 worth of Carnival gift cards and they swiped them and loaded all $800 onto to our account no problem.
momof1son Posted February 3, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted February 3, 2017 That was exactly what I needed to know. I was told it was specific to the home port, not the ship. Thank you!!
firemanbobswife Posted February 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Same experience as previously reported in Miami. I gave them my gift cards at check in.
Gamecock_Cruiser Posted February 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2017 I think it depends on the representative helping you. On my last cruise out of Charleston, we were able to load cash in the terminal, but the rep that helped our friends cruising with us said that they had to go to guest services. RTRMom Posted February 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2017 FYI, you can also load cash in those kiosks during the cruise. A lot easier and never a line.
amydresh Posted February 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2017 I think it depends on the representative helping you. On my last cruise out of Charleston, we were able to load cash in the terminal, but the rep that helped our friends cruising with us said that they had to go to guest services. I think it depends if the rep knows what they are doing or not. I wanted to load my gift cards during check in because I had heard it was easiest to do it then. The rep I had told me I had to do it at guest services after boarding. I told her that I heard to do it at check in and then she did it for me, but she didn't know what she was doing as she had never loaded them before. michiganredrose Posted February 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Anyone know if you can put cash on at check in in Fort Lauderdale? Otherwise I'll use the kiosk. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
