I'm assuming the less expensive one would be HIE and they include breakfast and a 24 hour complimentary airport shuttle, so that would be my pick.

The hotels are like comparing apples to oranges. Style, location , atmosphere. Just depends what you want/need . You can read reviews and descriptions on tripadvisor.

For the short time you are there, I'd probably just save the money.

What did you not like about Sleep Inn? It's more on the Holiday Inn level as the Hilton is...a Hilton.

Clientele.......wasnt a cruise crowd on our last stay...we sailed on a tuesday not the weekend...this may have had something to do with it.

can i ask why ?? have you stayed at both ??
\

Have stayed at both. As others have said the Ambiance style and amenities are completely different. Like going to the pool bar and having a drink at the Hilton. Rooms are larger at the Hilton and beds are more comfortable. also there is a water taxi stop on the property.

Just a heads-up about the Holiday Inn Express on !7th. When we were there in early December 2016 they were just starting a major addition to the hotel. This in not a small construction project and is going to take some time to complete.

Although this is the hotel we usually stay at because of the great location and good price we have oped to stay at the Holiday Inn Express on State Rd 84 in March this year.

Thought the HIE on 17th was fine two years ago.... Workout room was clean and breakfast was standard HIE fare.

Be aware that construction is going on at the HIE right now - they are doubling the size of the hotel. This is the info on their website:

[*]Current Renovation: 01-October-2016 To 31-May-2017

[*]additional tower of rooms' date=' parking garage and pool. Renovations are outside of main tower of hotel.

[/list']

Awesome! Thank you. I will be so happy for them to have a pool. It was the one drawback to this location.
