Rare PatandStu Posted February 13, 2017 #26 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I thought that too. I would think a medical doctor on a ship that spends days away from any port or city would have basic dental knowledge. cocod08 Posted February 13, 2017 #27 Share Posted February 13, 2017 My friend will be on board next week she is a Dental Hygienist. Not sure what you are looking for lol and not sure she'd want to work while on vacation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cocod08 Posted February 13, 2017 #28 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I use to cruise with a bottle of toothache medicine and super glue (in event a crown came out. I will say that was just in case something happened but if I felt I would need a dentist I would handle that before I left. I just read this never ever use Super Glue on a tooth it kills the nerve of the tooth which can cause you further problems down the road. If you have a loose crown better to carry a small tube of denture adhesive or you can buy temporary dental materials at the drug store. I'm also a Dental Hygienist. Loonbeam Posted February 13, 2017 #29 Share Posted February 13, 2017 It's a very specialized form of medical knowledge. Ships' doctors are the equivalent of ER doctors or General Practitioners. Even if they were knowledgeable they are not licensed for Dental work I expect... I thought that too. I would think a medical doctor on a ship that spends days away from any port or city would have basic dental knowledge.
