Techycruiser Posted February 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2017 I am booked on the Magic in a cove balcony. We were on the Magic back in September and had a cove balcony, it was perfect. We decided to try and get the same room on this cruise but it wasn't available. We booked 2277 since it was under the service desk and I figured it would be quiet. Now I found out from these boards that the balcony is basically unusable because of a bad smell. It is too late to change my cabin? skrufy Posted February 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2017 How did you book your cruise, early saver?
firemanbobswife Posted February 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2017 You can change to the same category of cabin for free at any time. However if you booked Early Saver, you can't downgrade. But Coves are the lowest category of Balconies so you may be able to upgrade to a regular one if there aren't any other Cove Balconies left. Best to consult whomever you booked with. beckatron Posted February 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2017 I am booked on the Dream in June and I was booked in a similar room - after reading about the smell issues I decided I might want to switch just in case. I went online saw an available room I liked better that was not an option when I initially booked. I called and they were very nice about getting it switched over. It was no change in category (cove -> cove) so it was not an issue.
Techycruiser Posted February 17, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted February 17, 2017 I was able to call my TA and he changed it for me right then and there. No problems at all.
loanshark Posted February 18, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2017 I have changed cabins either same category to same category, or a cabin to an upgraded category (if paying the difference in fare) several times. Never had an issue doing this.
