mamasylvia Posted February 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2017 There are so many Seattle-to-Vancouver options I am wondering if Victoria is as easy.
Rare martincath Posted February 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Both harder and easier, in different ways... There's one new option, convenient, and very likely a popular option for cruisers (ferry, downtown to downtown, but NB: passenger only no vehicles - http://www.clippervacations.com/clipper-ferry/). Plane is almost a wash - YYJ has 'regular plane' service to SEA but a bit further from downtown than YVR. Floatplanes are easier though, since there's actually scheduled service Victoria-Seattle through http://www.kenmoreair.com OTOH, train/bus now also involve having to take a boat or plane from Victoria to the mainland first (i.e. all previous options remain, but plus an extra time/expense/hassle factor of going via Vancouver). Rental car you would have the choice of WA State Ferries/Black Ball to a WA port, or BC Ferries to Tsawassen, then driving to Seattle.
mamasylvia Posted February 18, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted February 18, 2017 Thanks so much. Looks like the best options involve a boat - not surprising given how much water there is in the area!
Husky61 Posted February 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2017 My personal choice wold be to fly, but that is me.:)
mamasylvia Posted February 19, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted February 19, 2017 Are there direct Victoria-to-Seattle flights? Although for such a relatively short distance, it seems like overkill.

Yes, both regular plane and floatplane would be direct. They're so close it would be ludicrous to have service with a layover - even floatplanes, not renowned for their speed, take only 45mins takeoff to landing... Rare Gardyloo Posted February 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2017 Are there direct Victoria-to-Seattle flights? Although for such a relatively short distance, it seems like overkill. Sure, several per day, two kinds: - Scheduled seaplane service from the Victoria Inner Harbour to Lake Union in central Seattle. http://www.kenmoreair.com/ - Scheduled airport-to-airport service (Alaska and Delta)
