I won a free cruise ! Is it worth it?

I won the slot tournament last week on the Harmony. I am having second thoughts about taking it.

I was under the impression there would be only one ship at the end of the year doing the tournament.

Found out they are also having one on the Allure. I am going to be on the Independence of the Sea.

So far it still sounds exciting. But the more I have been investigating it I am not so sure.

I called to make arrangements to book the trip. It is for an inside room. If I want the balcony it is

another $1000. I can live with the inside room. Then I find out it is only a 5 day cruise. Not liking that.

I have to pay for a plane trip for 2 plus find a hotel room . If I have those expenses I want at least a 7 day trip. We also are in the casino every night. $$$$.

Still have to pay taxes , fees and insurance.

We already have another cruised booked in Jan. for 7 days and really don't want to cancel that.

What I am wondering is has anyone on this site ever won a free cruise with the slots? Was it worth going? Or free really isnt free in the end?

I think they mislead alot of people into playing the slot tournament thinking the winner can pick a cruise and date. One guy kept asking what if you can't make that particular date? tough out of luck.

Would love to hear from other winners

We won a cruise (any ship, 7 day, OV) a few years back through an outside agency. When we called to book it it was only $90 for balcony on Navigator - Med cruise or $800 for a full suite. We took the suite.

In your case why not look at either a B2B on the same ship or another cruise on a different ship within a day or so? This allows a lot longer cruise for the same airfare and hotel costs.
