lukesgrammie Posted November 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2005 I am getting pretty concerned as to whether I made a mistake booking this cruise in January. We are booked on Dawn Princess leaving out of San Francisco January 19. How cold is it there and what is Catalina Island like in January. What is it like on board if it is that cold and dreary and how far south do you have to go before you can enjoy the pool etc on board? I have cruised a lot ,but I hope I did not make a mistake with this iternary. We are from Michigan are look forward to getting out of the cold. If anyone is familiar with this cruise I would really like some encouragement. We also are on the aloha deck with a balcony. Hope we will be able to use it!!!! melika091900 Posted December 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2005 youre post is old. but I still wanted to respond,, cruising from SF will be cold until after you pass san diego,, then you can use the pool,, the weather here is so unpredictable, usually foggy ... cold.... maybe some drizzle,,, we took celebrity out of the city and I can still hear the fog horns on the ship,, hahahahaa it will be nice, our friends just went on dawn princess 10/21 and loved it... catalina weather the same, check out princess' website and check the web cam for the dawn princess. you can follow it to all the ports, thats how the weather will be if you want to see it leaving san francisco check out www.webmarin.com its pretty neat happy cruising melissa
