Best deck to book on Getaway?

Hello all,

We are considering a cruise on the Norwegian Getaway. This is our first Norwegian cruise, so we are new to the class of ship. Coming from Carnival, we like quiet corridors and the least rocking of the ship. We can pick from decks 8, 11, and 13. Which deck would be best to pick from?

Deck 8 has the Theater below and may result in some unwanted noise. Both the other decks you mentioned have cabins above and below so seem to be better choices. Additionally, Deck 8 has cabins only in the front of the ship and this area will be subject to more motion. Generally speaking, the lower and closer to center you are the less you will feel the motion.

 

We stayed on deck 13 before and really didn't notice any motion

I originally had deck 12 Balcony booked and got upgraded to the large balconies on deck 8. Best decision I have ever made for any vacation. There was no unwanted noise from the theater. The space of the large balcony made our trip. We ate breakfast on it and took naps. Loved it.

The higher decks will keep you away from noise. They will rock a tiny bit more in heavy seas, but the whole ship will be moving (doesn't matter what deck you're on).

We had a large balcony on deck 8 and LOVED it- right at the front of the ship and the movement was not bad at all- plus it was great to walk to the Sunset Bar! :)

We were on Deck 8, cabin 8156 I think. It was great, no noise from theater or the shops. You are close to shops, restaurants, bars, and the outside area that wraps around the ship.

Deck 13 is a nice quiet deck mid section :-) this deck is sandwiched between cabin decks so you will be far away from public spaces.

I vote for deck 8 as well. Quiet, but close to everything in the Atrium.

We were last week on one of the mini suites with Large Balcony (8132) . Great location. Never heard any noise of the theatre and close to all the bars and restaurants
