Jewel of the Seas - Room on 7th level question

Hi!

 

First time cruiser here. Our room is on the 7th level, looks to be almost over the casino. Noise doesn't bother me. But smoke does. Since the casino is a smoking area, concerned if smoke smell may radiate up? Anyone have any experience with room placement over casino?

I was on Jewel earlier this month and didn't notice any issues with smoke leaving the casino. I know that there were reports last year or the year before in regards to smoke permeating into the centrum but they seem to have figured it out. Or it's possible that the people on my sailing weren't heavy smokers. :confused:

My experience was on the Serenade, but the Jewel and Serenade are twins.

 

The smoke was inescapable.

Yes, but that was two years ago. I was on Jewel a month ago there were no issues at all. Again, it could have been a lack of smokers on board but it also could be that extra equipment was added at the last refurb to mitigate.

We just got off the Jewel. We didn't notice smoke outside the casino, or in our room above the casino. They must have corrected the ventilation issue.

Stayed in room 7026 last July and no issues whatsoever. Could not smell any smoke in the hallways to room either.
