casino-queen Posted February 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Hi everybody, I will be sailing on the Magic in Sept. out of Port Canaveral. My flight leaves Orlando International at 12:05 p.m. I plan to carry my own luggage off that morning, but I'm not sure what time they start letting people off. I will catch a shuttle (not sure which one yet) to the airport. My question is: Am I cutting it too close? I know Orlando airport can get pretty busy with the long security lines. But the alternative is paying $50.00 more and having to wait at the airport another three hours for the next flight. Any ideas?
nchikk Posted February 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2017 I think you'll be fine as long as the ship is not late returning to port. Normally, you'd debark with self-assist around 8:00. MCO should be 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic.
bnorris10 Posted February 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2017 You should be okay just be ready to go for when they announce people to walk off ... I always make sure I am pretty much packed the night before so that we only have to throw toiletries and jammies in our bags have a quick breakfast and then listen for announcements that its time to go
skrufy Posted February 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2017 As long as the ship docks on time, they always get to port before scheduled time. And debarkation goes normally you should have no problem.
casino-queen Posted February 27, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Thanks everyone! I'll give it a shot. Worst case scenario: I miss the flight and fly stand-by on the next one. Sent from my 2PQ93 using Forums mobile app
loanshark Posted February 28, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2017 If the ship returns on time - you will be fine. However, just this past weekend there was an issue, that I'm surprised there haven't been more posts mentioning.... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2462403

Most likely, you will make it to your flight. Sounds lime you have a travel insurance anyway.
