Sometimes there are promos and you can save some money.

Some shore excursions fill up quickly too. So getting them booked ahead of the cruise can be a good idea. You can always cancel onboard (at least 24 hours before) for a full refund.

Buying the drinks package before you get on-board is normally cheaper than buying on the ship.
