Buying cigarettes onboard...

I know you aren't allowed to use the liquor you buy onboard during the cruise, but are you allowed to keep the cigarettes you buy? Or are they held until the last night like the alcohol is??

You keep them. I always buy 2 cartons as soon as the shop opens after sailing

Yes you can buy cartons onboard to smoke them there. One word of advice is that the shops do not open until later in the evening on the first night so bring a pack or two to smoke before they open. You can buy a single pack at the bars but it is more expensive.

How do you find out what brands they sell??

You will know at the shop.

Know which cig's prices are on land. The ship might charge the same price per carton on the cheaper brands as "premium" brands.

And you're allowed one carton per passenger leaving the ship into the US on your return, so they say.
