Tahitian Princess noise

Can anyone tell me if you can hear noise from deck 9 in your cabin on deck 8. I have had a cabin one deck below public decks in the past, on other ships, & not been bothered. I have been told, by 2 different sources, on the Tahitian Princess the noise from deck 9 might be noticeable in a cabin on deck 8. I am most concerned about the stern area where the buffet is located on deck 9. Thanks in advance for any information.

I think the buffet is at the aft of the ship on deck 9 (is that the same as stern?).We were on sister ship, Pacific Princess, with an aft cabin on deck 8 a couple of years ago. The only noise we heard was in the early morning when they were hosing off the outside eating area and moving chairs/tables around. Didn't bother us, though.

I was also concerned about this, but have been assured by others that it's not much of a problem. If you look back a few pages, you'll probably see a few questions about noise. I asked several people here and they were nice enough to tell me which mini-suites they had and what kind of noise they heard. I went ahead and booked a suite based on that info.

We were in cabin 8052 in March '04. Only sound from above was on the eve of the Polynesian Show (crew cleaning up and it was just for about 1/2 hour). We've booked another on Deck 8 for March '06.

we had friends in one of the aft owners suites on deck 8 and they said that there was noise from the tables and chairs that are on the buffet deck. we stayed on deck 8 this last time, farther up in the ship and had no noise.
