Worth a try, but now praying for the Upgrade fairy

Recommended Posts

We're booked on the Indy, sailing in 7 weeks or so (yay!). We got one of their special offer deals (buy one full fare and get the second passenger half price, plus included drink package)

Last night DW wondered how full the ship was. I went online, checked a few cruise TA websites, and it appears that at the moment there is availability in all stateroom classes from interior right up to GS.

DW then asks me to enquire of the TA we booked through what the cost would be to upgrade us from our present balcony to (say) a JS. If it wasn't exorbitant, she offered to pay the upgrade cost.

So this morning I ring the TA. He rings me back, having spoken to RCCL.

The offer we had has now expired, so we would need to pay full cost for the JS AND we would lose the free drinks package.

So, even without the drinks package the extra cost would exceed what we have already paid, by a fair margin.

Never mind, maybe the upgrade fairy will smile.on us dockside......if not, we're still going to have a GREAT cruise!
