Escape question- Family Mini suite- deck 9

Hi,

My DH and I are going on the two week Southern Caribbean out of NY on 1/20/19. We opted to get the family mini, as my daughter needs a room with a bathtub for the babies. (and she wants us to have attached rooms) The only family minis are on deck 9, which is right over the 5 O'Clock Somewhere bar and the Tobacco Bar. I was wondering if others who have had those cabins, 9808 and 9806 specifically, had problems with noise and/or smoke. I'm not sure why they would put the family rooms right above all the bars, but that's what they did. Thanks for the replies

I would like to know as well. We were in a regular mid ship mini suite, but they "upgraded" us to a family mini suite. It was one of those rooms over the bar, but I called and FINALLY got someone to agree to move us to the other side of the ship. We are still over a restaurant, not sandwiched between 2 floors of staterooms like I would have liked.
