island284 Posted April 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2017 When we disembarked the March Navigator 9 night ABC cruise in Miami we did NOT need to fill out a customs form, nor any other type of proof of purchase. All we did was show the customs agent our passport. The ship staff told us out disembarkation was the first to do this. Is this now the process at Port Everglades, especially the Allure? (No one needed the Mobike app either. )
schmeed Posted April 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2017 I think this is a decision made by Customs and Border Protection, not RCI. It was either a fluke, a one-time event or they are changing the policy because they know everyone lies on the form anyway. :)
leinhto Posted April 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2017 We had the same experience coming of the March 26th sailing on Navigator. I was also surprised. No forms. Made disembarkation really expedient.

Havingfun2010 Posted April 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2017 I always wondered what they do with all those forms? Do they keep them? Look up a passport number? or just toss them in the garbage because they really don't know either of what to do with them:confused:
emory2001 Posted April 5, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2017 Same thing when we disembarked Enchantment on March 24. I asked our stateroom attendant the night before when they delivered the disembarking information but no customs forms that usually come at the same time. She said they changed the procedure about 3 weeks ago - no more forms.
island284 Posted April 5, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted April 5, 2017 It seems this is the process in Miami . . . but is this the process now in Port Everglades when disembarking the Allure? Can any recent Allure cruisers share their experience?
FLHugh Posted April 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2017 They know what you bought as they now has access to the NSA database which tracks everything we do!!! You will get a bill in the main in a few weeks. LOL
KnightsFan Posted April 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2017 It sounds like CBP is finally giving up on the C part of its acronym and now focusing on the BP. I guess they're going to let the IRS handle the taxation on import duties.
schmeed Posted April 6, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Interestingly, when we disembarked our 3/26 LOS the cruise in Galveston we had to present the form. This was on 4/2.
ARCruisinNana Posted April 6, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 6, 2017 So far it seems only MIA has no customs forms. Sent from my iPad using Forums
