ThreeLittleBirds Posted April 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2017 We will be sailing the Oasis in a few days and I'm trying to get everything organized. My child is 3 years old and has a severe peanut allergy. I have it noted on our reservation. When we drop him off, do we drop off an Epipen as well? We don't anticipate peanut exposure in the kids club, but better to be safe than sorry. Does anyone know RC's policy on this? Thanks!
GTO-Girl Posted April 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Contact the Special Needs Dept and discuss your situation. They are better prepared to answer your questions. Have a wonderful cruise!
cb at sea Posted April 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2017 They will give you a pager if something should happen. They do NOT feed the kids in the club, so any contact with food is severely limited! And yes...special needs can guide you further!!
goofy810 Posted April 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2017 You MUST call Speacial needs, if you call a min of 2 weeks out they make sure they have someone who is trained in using it any time your child is there. IF not 2 weeks they can not allways be sure to have them on the ship (this is a CYA for RCCL as all kids club staff have the training). That said I would put it on your form and MAKE sure to let them know when ever you drop your child off. Also note the ship Doc has a response time of under 5 min during the day (while at sea, when in port the ships doc is not allways onboard) so depending on your childs reaction level they may be the one to give the shot. Does your child know what to do or at a min the signs of a reaction starting ?
