Oasis March 26th thru April 2nd

Background: Travel agent mom with grown son.

Traveling non stop on Southwest from Manchester NH to Orlando day before cruise. Stayed at Sheraton Suites at airport. Loved this place 2 room suite. Easy pick up at airport and transportation to at least 30 restaurants in area. All free. Cortrans picked up on March 26 at appointed time. (10AM)Easy trip to the port. Long line for drop off but driver did it with ease. Got to the terminal got in the Diamond check in line and was on board in 15 minutes.

Headed to Park cafe for one of the famous roast beef sandwiches. Yum.

After that we were off to our cabin. We have sailed Oasis before and had our usual Ocean Balcony. This time we were trying cabin 9329 the last cabin on the Boardwalk before the Aqua Theatre. We love it. Spent more time on the balcony than any other trip. Watched the shows/rock climber/movies and had dinner on the balcony. You had a great view of the ocean and that is a bonus. Once the door was closed it was reasonably quiet. We had Nadine from Jamaica for our cabin person and she was awesome. Would do this type of cabin in a heartbeat. Would do decks 9/10/or 11 and up to 4 cabins back from the end.

Next we headed to the pool deck. We packed our suits in carry on so we were ready to go. After some time spent in the Solaruim too it was time for drill. We headed to the Aqua Theatre our gathering place. Painless. We headed to the front of the ship for sail away. We missed our 5:30 dinner in the dining room so we went to the Windjammer. The selection I thought was limited even for dinner. I found no pasta bar.

We went back to our room to watch the 7:30 show in Aqua Theatre from our balcony great show. I think we headed to bed after a long day.

Day 2 was a sea day so we spent most time at the pool. And some time in the Solarium. The ship was rocking and rolling and the pools had giant waves. As a side note it was nice to see the lifeguards controlling the area. Also life vests are available free. Also many signs for parents that said watch your kids. They were not letting kids in without parents during this wave action.

This day is somewhat of a blur…. so not sure what the night time activities were.

Next was Labadee one of my favorites… got off the ship headed to the small beach next to the suites beach. My son spotted stand up paddle boards and was all over that $15.00 for half hour and it was early so he got an hour for $15.00. After this we just hung out and went in the water. Lunch was typical BBQ. I only met one obnoxious woman in line. Continually complaining the line wasn’t moving. Mind you she ate breakfast 3 hours earlier and she looked like she never missed a meal. At one point a woman fainted in line and she said now thats going to slow down the line. At another point she complained the workers had to eat and they were cutting in line. Yikes. We headed back to the ship and the pool for a while. Got dressed and went Izumi for hibachi. Seated at a table for 8 we had a blast, very entertaining. The food was great and plentiful. Highly recommend it. We then headed to the Comedy Club for the 9 PM show. Very fun. After this was the Dancing in the Streets party. We liked this as well.

Next was Jamaica and we got off the ship and headed to Margaritaville for the day. Large pool/lounge chairs and yummy food and drinks. We finally made it to the dinning room and when I asked where our table was we were escorted to a table that was occupied by two woman. I had asked for a table for 2 and got a confirmation. So they found us a great table and we had the pleasure of being served by Alberto and Mayur. They were great. And I must say I like the new menu. We both ordered Chops filet on 2 different nights but ate off the menu the rest of the time. It was really good. Tonite we had Ice Show. We had seen this show a couple years back and loved it esp. The sand artist. We also went to the Do you Want to Feel like a Millionaire? Show at On Air. Fun and a place to relax before the ice show.

Day 5 Sea day.. more pool and another round at Park Cafe for lunch. Oh almost forgot had breakfasts at Park Cafe/Windjammer and also Johnny Rockets. We also had lunch one day at Johnny Rockets. We also had a lunch at Sabor…. really great. We had Headliner show tonite and he was a Elton John wanna be… but very good. And funny.

We also went to the Newlywed Game tonite. Always fun.

Next up was Cozumel we got a cab and headed to Paradise Beach a favorite of ours more stand up paddle boarding and then we moved to the pool area which is beautiful. Beach is very rocky.

Last day packing/pool and last minute things riding the carousel and the Rising Tide. Spent some evening time at the Schooner bar. And the Dreamworks parade. Splish Splash in the afternoon.

One thing we enjoyed most evinces was the Central Park Keys and Strings concerts. It was beautiful. I loved Central Park this time and spent a lot of time there.

We have sailed many times mostly with RCCL. We found this time to be excellent. Well paced and yet lots of activities. This is a huge ship and lots of people but the only crowds we encountered was when a show let out or after a street party. We loved our cabin and definitely will choose this again. We will go again in April 2018 and perhaps on Allure of the Seas.

Embarkation was as follows: Got in line about 6:30 AM for self assist and the line was wrapped around deck 5 and out on the jogging track took about 20 minutes to get to the station where they “bing” u out. From that point to the desk for immigration was about another 45 minutes. They are so smart in Port Canaveral they have a ramp not an escalator like in FLL and Miami which is a real accident to happen. Walked outside and met the transfer and they were able to get us on a earlier van. Off to the airport and yet another long line outside Southwest. There was a storm in the NE the day before it it was crazy busy. But it moved and we had plenty of time.
