Carnival transport

Looking for help from anyone who has used the Carnival transportation from the port to Miami airport. Wondering what time the shuttles start, frequency, and dependability. We have a 12p flight and haven't decided how we are going to return to the airport. Any help would be appreciated. We do have FTTF.

Carnival uses buses which sit there and do not leave until they are full.

 

If I had a noon flight out of MIA, Carnival transport is the very last thing I would consider (Hint - Uber, or taxi - there is a fixed taxi rate of $27 I believe)

Thank you to both of you. We have 5 in our group. I'm not concerned about the cost, we just want to be at the airport at a reasonable time. Is there a designated taxi stand or do I need to be prepared with a phone number?

There is a designated taxi stand, just go and join the line. I've never had to wait long.

The buses do not wait until full. They wait until they are released to go to the airports. I have been on full and half full buses leaving the port.

If you're doing the cab, they'll be lined up outside the terminal. You may have to wait a little bit for a minivan or split into two cabs. Just watch for the guys between the door and the taxi line trying to get you to take their shuttle (priced per person vs per ride).

I disagree about this being a bad idea. I have used the transports several times. How early you get to the airport is dependent on how early you get off the ship and to the bus. There have always been buses waiting when we disembarked and I have never had to sit on the bus long before it departed.

Thanks again everyone. Thinking 1 or 2 cabs if needed will be the best choice.

Uber XL are Suburbans and other large SUV will accomodate 5. Uber's price is not per person it is for the ride. We love Uber, extremely convenient, not waiting for a bus, generally very friendly drivers.

I agree they will make you wait, and wait. If the port gets backed up they'll delay the buses. We did it once, never again.

I will check with Uber once we are waking off the ship but I have a feeling they will be backed up.

Uber is definitely the quickest and best way to get there.
