mysticdream Posted April 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2017 I have looked through the boards and found some good information on "window washer" obstruction. If you are next door to obstructed cabin does it still block your view. Trying to decide if worthwhile to spend $200 more for a smaller E3 cabin. Is there any noise coming from equipment? cb at sea Posted April 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2017 Even if you are IN the cabin where the equip. is, it's OVER your head...you can see it, but it obstructs nothing. There is no noise from the idle equipment. When in use, it rides along a rail, the entire length of the ship, so if YOUR balcony/windows are being washed....yes..you might hear it then, and your balcony will certainly get wet...just like everyone else's! The "window washing equip" consists of a platform and ladder....both are "see-thru".....It's never used when underway...only when in port, when you are likely NOT in your cabin, or even, on the ship! PNW Traveler Posted April 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We have sailed on the Serenade in 9652. The window washing equipment could be seen, but was not a visual obstruction. There was no noise from the equipment. It was used very infrequently and was not a distraction. These are great balcony staterooms, nice size and quiet location. I actually look for deals on these particular staterooms close to final payment date.
mysticdream Posted May 14, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted May 14, 2017 Thank you. Just confused as Rccl says no obstruction but some reviews indicate there is an obstruction. Has anyone stayed in cabin 9650. The price was the same as other D1's.
