Can you hire a guide?

I was hoping to do the Land Rover tour when in Belize but just noticed the price is $119 per person, so about $150 Canadian (times 2 people) :eek: . That is a lot for the day! Does anyone know if you can hire a guide, like many people have suggested for Roatan? You can not do this tour thru an independent operator (as far as I have seen anyway).
