JF - retired RRT Posted May 20, 2017 #26 Share Posted May 20, 2017 We heard some large bangs during lunch, and wondered what was going on. Turns out they were testing the Marine Evacuation System. Just wondering...is that blue tube the way you get IN?? Whee!!

Rare CanadianBurger Posted May 20, 2017 Author #28 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Love Vancouver. I think it's the most beautiful port in North America to sail out of. The Emerald has Curtis Stone's Share. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

cruisincdns Posted May 21, 2017 #42 Share Posted May 21, 2017 Did they say why it's delayed? It was late leaving last Saturday on our Alaskan cruise. A combination of the large crowds and the inadequate security scanning stations plus there was an operational issue along to port side that they were working on right up until we left about 7:40pm. Do you wait until their put the minibar in your cabin before calling to exchange or can you call once you are in the cabin and tell them what you want exchanged? Can you exchange the water for - 2 water for 2 beer and 2 water for 2 soda? Can you tell me what the bottles beside the Perrier bottles are? Rare CanadianBurger Posted May 21, 2017 Author #49 Share Posted May 21, 2017 This will my first time having the minibar. You can only exchange like for like, e.g. alcohol for alcohol, so you wouldn't be able to swap the water for beer. Not sure about water to soda. Beside the Perrier is tonic water. This is the first time it hasn't already been in the room when I arrived. I would call room service as soon as you get to your cabin to customize. Incidentally, I heard that some elites on board had to argue to get the minibar, after they were told they didn't get it on a 1-day cruise.
