BBMacLaird Posted August 9, 2017 #51 Share Posted August 9, 2017 UPDATE! The OBC work-around is extended through the end of the year. Here's the statement: "Guests sailing with Azamara on voyages through the end of 2017 may pre-book our tours online or through the call center (using a credit card payment) and once onboard cancel and rebook using their OBC. All tours rebooked onboard will be charged the current onboard price at the time of rebooking."
mcnuss Posted August 10, 2017 #52 Share Posted August 10, 2017 We did this excursion on the LCV cruise. She does the cooking. You do the eating. And the eating. And the eating. Plus some drinking for good measure. The dining table covered with antipasto when you sit down. Prosciutto, cheeses, mussels, olives, tapenades, bread and more. Then shrimp risotto. Then homemade potato gnocchi with a kind of beef pot roast in gravy. Then a traditional local cake. Excellent excursion. Have fun. Is this the excursion? It sounds similar, but not the same... Traditional Kotor Culinary Experience - KV89 Embark on a day filled with the epic history and exquisite cuisine of Kotor. Begin with a guided stroll through the Old City, a remarkably preserved medieval realm reflective of a bygone era. Make your way to a traditional market where you’ll have a chance to see and savor traditional Montenegrin ingredients. From here, you’ll head to the charming home of Vlasta Mandic, a local legend born and raised in Kotor. An architect by trade, Vlasta is also the author of acclaimed cookbooks, a renowned a capella singer, and a rather superb brandy maker. Upon arrival, meet Vlasta and sit down to sip some of her homemade brandy. Afterwards, it’s off to the kitchen to learn the finer points of making gnocchi and meat sauce, a Kotor mainstay. Savor this delicious lunch and enjoy conversation with this remarkable Renaissance woman.
nonrev1 Posted August 10, 2017 #53 Share Posted August 10, 2017 I guess the work around extended through the end of the year is both good news and bad news. It allows everyone to pre book if they wish with the work around. The bad news is that it looks like the permanent solution is delayed. We have a cruise in August and will book one excursion with our OBC when we embark. (Taking our chances) But - our following cruises are in January and we hope by that point we can pre-book without paying, canceling and rebooking. We have a very large OBC and plan to book only book ships tours vs. doing our own tours. The cruise is very costly and to charge an additional $1,000.00 for tours and wait for refunds is crazy! cruiservirginia Posted August 12, 2017 #54 Share Posted August 12, 2017 Bonnie, When is the permanent solution expected? I'm on a February 8th sailing and anxious to book shore excursions.
