Hi Tim,

did you do a review for Armonia. I have just booked this ship and cant find a lot of reviews about it. We booked mainly for the ports and Olbia in particular. Also its a no fly and will be traveling on Eurostar(my sister wont fly).Had a quick look at the ship on youtube and it doesn't look too bad.I would have loved to try out the Meraviglia but to be honest I thought the prices were very high for a weeks cruising--can only have 1 week holiday at a time due to work commitments. What did you think of Armonia.

Cheers.

Hello, I ´m new here, so I dont know how to make a reviews. I cruised MSC Armonia this year (I was for the first time on such trip). In general I can tell you I was maximally satisfied. Everything was perfectly organized (since our travell to the ship from home, untill our departure). Shore excursions were amazing (you can choose from 4 or 5 alternatives in each place) with very profesional excursion staff on ship and guides too. There are also lot of acitivities in ship during the day and at evenings. You can visit theatre, casino or many bars with live music. If you like sport activities there is a Gym and small swimming pools too. The only problem was that sometimes was hard to find a seat for breakfast or dinner and also (if there were many guests) you should wait relatively long for waiters. Crew on ship was very nice, I met there people from whole world. Guests and crew was one big international community and it was nice example for me to see how can different people live and cooperate together. In one evening in theatre, representatives of all crew members made big thanks to all guests with the M. Jackson´s song We are the world. It was very strong for me as MSC told us - guests, or crew, nobody is better or worse, we are in one ship and crew is doing their best for us to have good time (I know maybe it is only good marketing, but I had good feeling from it). I saw something like that for the first time. In day of my board on ship I saw in Genova much more bigger ship (Splendida) and I ask my self why we didn´t pick this one..., but at the end I was happy that we chose MSC Armonia. I hope it will be helpfull for you:)

Hi Sofsol I did indeed write a review you can read it here: http://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=541939

Armonia is an older ship, she is kept spotlessly clean but go with the expectation whe won't be as grand and glitzy as a new ship. I think Meraviglia is showing as expensive with it being her inaugral season. Cruises on her for next year are looking a bit cheaper.

Martin - it's not allowed to give email addresses etc on this forum. Feel free to ask anything you like in the public forum

Hi guys,

thank you very much for your helpful replies. We will be going on this cruise with the intention of enjoying ourselves .We are hoping for lovely warm weather, good wine and lots of lovely Italian food and new ports of interest---what's not to like:D. I do love the bigger glitzy ships but this one seemed a good deal so will put up with it not having all amenities of the larger ones. Especially keen to visit Olbia where we hope to have a beach day as some of the beaches there look stunning.

Thanks again,I'm sure to be popping back with more questions before we sail..

You are welcome. I forgot write something regarding the food. We were satisfied with it. Breakfast is european one (with all classical meals). During the lunch time and at the evenings there are more or less are mediterranean meals, but everybody can chose. It is also different if you go to lunch, or to dinner in restaurants, or in buffet which is at the top of the ship. In restaurants there is also dress code, so it is neccessary to go there seemly dressed. Of course, if you will have any other questions dont hesitate to ask:)

Hi Martin T,

thank you,yes we do like the food on MSC ships,i'm not much of a meat eater so pasta's,salads breads etc do it for me. I have sailed Princess,Royal Caribbean,Carnival and Celebrity and enjoyed the food on them all---easily pleased.:D. I see you liked the look of Splendida, well if you get the chance book her---she is the most beautiful ship I have sailed on,stunning!.

Cheers
