Kids Sail Free Promo--What Is Deposit?

I am super excited for the upcoming Kids Sail Free promo :D (I read somewhere that it will start tomorrow for select Oasis of the Sea's sailings for next May). My question is when I book for 2 adults + 3 kids will the deposit be $1,000 or just $250/adult so only $500? :confused:

Last I heard, the deposit is $500 per stateroom for 7-day cruises, regardless of the number of guests.

Really? I could have sworn we put down $1,000 last time we booked our stateroom (family oceanview stateroom if that makes a difference?!) :confused:

you still have to put $250 for the child. I just booked for 2 adults and 1 child and it was $750

I just booked the Kids Sail Free promo last week and had to put down $1000 for 4 in a cabin.

Same for us. Booked under Kids Sail Free last week in a balcony, two adults 2 kids, one room, thousand dollar deposit.

It also depends on who you book through as well. Certain travel agencies have an agreement with Royal Caribbean that can get you a reduced deposit, for as much as half off the deposits, all the time. Meaning you would pay $125 per person, rather than the usual $250 (which is what it is in most cases).

 

Others may look at it differently, but I am a big proponent of putting the minimal deposit possible down, as I usually have multiple bookings at once for 1 or 2 years or further out.

I booked a cruise for my wife and our three kids under the kids sail free promo with Royal Caribbean and only paid $589 because our third child was on a separate reservation (we booked an Oceanview Family Stateroom) and her total only came to $89 because the taxes and fees.

 

This is a little different than some of the 2 adults, 2 kids setups, but done right, through the right agency, you could only be paying $500, instead of the normal $1,000. Just a heads up.

You probably already know this, but Royal Caribbean is also running a Kids Sail Free promo right now, that ends today, that is 30% off, plus kids sail free, etc from Sept. 1-Dec. 14 sailings, excluding around Thanksgiving. Just a heads up for those not aware.
