Carl2860 Posted April 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2018 Anyone been on the Emerald Seattle Round-trip yet to Alaska? Wondering which night is the second formal night for sure? Thanks! Kristy How was the cruise as we just booked this trip for July 8th 2018. In the past we would either have a balcony or mini but this time we went for an inside IF "top two decks". peety3 Posted April 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2018 Where you on it this month? I think this itinerary makes it fairly easy to figure out that there aren't many options: Never on embarkation - luggage still coming up from the hold. Never on disembarkation night (even if it wasn't stopping in Victoria) - they want luggage out to go to the hold. Not on Juneau or Skagway night - they don't want to sacrifice spa revenue against excursion revenue, nor do they want to miss out on photo revenue if lots of folks are still in port. We know they'll put one formal night on the sea day (Sunday). That leaves Glacier Bay day ("ends" at 3:00pm) and Ketchikan day (ends at 1:00pm). Again, they want spa revenue, so they're going to do it on Ketchikan day to minimize conflict with other "primary" activities on the itinerary. They don't want people skipping spa appointments because the view is so amazing, and they want to maximize the number of people who will dress up and then stand for typical cruise ship photos.
