We are doing our first fly cruise soon. We are sailing from Malta; from what I have found out the ship should be departing around 8pm. As we do not board the ship until roughly 4 - 4:30 and some passengers flights do not arrive until 6pm, what time do they do muster drill? We were trying to work this out as we have fixed time dining of 6:30 and have visions of us sitting at our table with our life jackets in hand ready to drop our cutlery at the sound of the alarm!

First night is open sitting and the muster will happen before you sail.

Yes, no matter if you have Club (Fixed) dining, on fly cruises the first night is always open seating due to the fact that flights all arrive at different times. On the second night it reverts to Club and Freedom dining.

On Thursday 25th May, we gathered in the muster stations for 8:15pm. Drill started 20 minutes later. Open dining for the evening due to different arrival times for passengers, although dining was suspended from 7:00pm (IIRC) and re-commenced straight after muster. We had arrived on ship on one of the later flights from Gatwick, and dined in the buffet. Sailed c.9:30pm-10:00pm-ish. First time on this ship and fell in love with her. Just got back and booking another asap.
