Earl Colby Pottinger Posted June 14, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted June 14, 2017 Agree and if I'm asked I tend to be vague and say a few our children see their inheritance dwindling as our love for ships keeps growing. And we don't tell people our status unless directly asked. You reminded me of a Dear Abby I read years ago, I never forget it: Dear Abby, Our widowed mom is considering a one year round-the-world cruise. What can we say to her to discourage her from doing this as we were looking forward to inheriting the money when she dies. Dear Abby's reply: Tell your mom "Bon Voyage". Rare uktog Posted June 14, 2017 #27 Share Posted June 14, 2017 We ski regularly, we are avid skiers Not the snowy stuff ski as in spending kids inheritance. Of course they'll get something but our generation never had the school/uni gap year we went straight to work so we are having lots of gap months instead now :)

We gave them a quizzical look and they explained.:)
genegri Posted June 15, 2017 #29 Share Posted June 15, 2017 OP you will fit right in. I have found Azamara (and Oceania) cruises to be very friendly and relaxed. Fellow pax tend to be itinerary oriented cruisers like ourselves and have a genuine love for traveling. On a second note, I didn't realize asking about where folks are from and do might be uncomfortable to some. I will adjust my small talks and ice breakers going forward.
