First off when visiting a port of call

How do the cruise lines determine who gets off the ship first when visiting a port? The reason I'm asking is that we're on the Sapphire Princess in February, and the time in Cabo is pretty short. I'm wondering whether there's time to get off the ship and just wander around, or if the people on Princess sponsored tours get to get off first.

THIS IS WHAT I DO.......

I ENJOY BREAKFAST........

LET ALL THOSE THAT ARE IN A BIG HURRY GO FIRST........

THOSE THAT ARE TAKING TOURS NEED TO GET OFF FIRST...

IF YOU GET INTO THAT CROWD,,,,,,,,,YOU WILL BE WAITING IN A

LOOOOOOOOOOONG LINE.....................

IF YOU WAIT AND TAKE YOUR TIME YOU WILL GET OFF QUICKER...........

AND NOT HAVE TO WAIT IN A LONG LINE

HAPPY CRUISING..................

I often book excursions on my own & need off the ship before they unload the unwashed masses (ie those NOT on a ship sponsored tour, which is usually me), so I just follow a ship group tour down to the tenders with my little family and we hop right on and head into port with them. We just veer off from the rest of the group as soon as we step onto the dock.

I don't think you stated you had privately booked excursions, however, so maybe you could just cool your jets til time to disembark with everyone else?

Thanks for the answers. I'd just as soon avoid the crowds getting off the ship, but I also want to be able to see the sights. The ship is only in Cabo San Lucas from 7-2. It isn't much time. Does anyone have any idea how much time we actually will get to spend in the town?
