Navigator, Explorer or Jewel ?

We are in the process of selecting our Spring cruise for March and have been shopping around so we have narrowed our selection down to these three ships.

Explorer is about $400. per person cheaper for a 7 day cruise than the other two ships. Visiting about the same ports (Eastern Carribean). Jewel is a 8 day cruise so we gain a day. Navigator is a newer ship.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, Can anyone compare the Navigator to the Explorer.

Thanks for your replies

I have never been on the Navigator, but will be in January! I have however, been on both the Explorer and the Jewel, and while both have unique features I think I liked the Explorer better (that is probably why I am going on the Navigator) as you know the Explorer is a bigger ship, which is something I like, not to say the Jewel wasn't great, it seemed to have a more elegant flare to it than the Navigator, but again I think I must be the big ship type because I loved everything about it. I also traveled with my two son's in their teens at the time and they don't think there is a ship better than the Explorer.

Was just on the Jewel in September. Are you bringing kids with you?........If so i would definitely go with the Explorer as it has Adventure Ocean for the kids. Navigator does not. If you are not going with kids, i would take the Jewel. It is by far the prettiest ship i have ever been on, much preferred it over a Voyager Class ship. And if you are not taking children, there is probably a 95% chance (just made up that number, hehe) that there will be less children on board.....

We just returned from the Jewel of the Seas with our 3 kids, 21, 15 and 14 year old. We did Explorer 2 years ago. My kids preferred the Jewel. The ship is much easier to manuever and had pretty much everything the Explorer does other than the ice skating rink. Both are nice. You will enjoy either.

We have been on all 3 ships. My favorite itinery was the Jewel. That extra day is soooo nice to have, and we loved going to Antigua. It is one of our favorite islands. St. Maartin is really nice too. The Jewel is the most elegant ship we have been on in our 8 curises. The Navigator is probably our second choice.

You will have a great cruise on whichever ship you are on! We were on the Empress this sept. for a 5 night and had a wonderful time also!
