Valor Check-In and Boarding Times

My wife and I are cruising on the 4-day Valor in July. We have FTTF. What is the earliest check-in time they allow and what is the average time boarding starts?

We are signed up for the 11:00 check-in, but I read somewhere that check in usually begins around 10:00. With FTTF I know we can check in whenever, but I don't want to sit in the holding area forever waiting either.

For an 1100am check in time I would arrive around 1030am. By the time you park your car if driving and drop off your luggage with the porters it will be close to 1100am. You will then enter the terminal and begin check in. Check in will take around 15-20 minutes if all goes smoothly. Then you will wait in the boarding area until your group is called. You will board after wedding parties, diamonds and platinums. You will be on board around 1200pm enjoying a drink and lunch. This has been our experience on our last 3 cruises.

The earliest we have ever been on a ship, including or excluding FTTF is 11:45 am. You have to get the other guests off, clear customs, get the weddings on and then they start with the Diamond. And don't be surprise if there are some pushy people - there are a lot that buy FTTF and it is like a cattle call with everyone in a mad rush for the ship. Without it, I have been on board by noon, because we checked in early and were in group 5 or 6.

We don't use FTTF anymore because 1) we thought it was a waste of money and 2) are now Platinum.

My best advice is either plan on showing up early and waiting and going in with the cattle, or using it more like Platinums do and show up when convenience and walk on. It has been much more pleasant to show up at the terminal a bit later and still be on the ship by 1. Was I first on? Nope. Was I much more relaxed not having to deal with pushy me first people? Yep.
