WongGendeng Posted June 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Hi, I have a relative who will be taking a cruise to Canada from NYC port. Here are the facts about this person: - Indonesian Passport - Not US Permanent Resident (no GC) - Holds multiple entries US visa (B2) - 65+ - Currently here in US for 4 months Will this person need Canada Visitor or Transit visa? If yes to either visa, can this person apply the visa directly to Canada Embassy or has to go through the visa service company? I tried to search existing discussions, but I didn't have any luck. Either no answer, or the discussion has been very old. Thanks a lot in advance!

Probably best to contact the Canadian Visa Application Centre in Indonesia. http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/Indonesia/english/contact_us.html Sent from my iPad using Forums

d9704011 Posted June 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Thanks - Is CVAC like the oursourced service for the Canadian visa application? Is it possible to apply directly with Canadian embassy? Thanks! I'm definitely not an expert on how this works but I'm certain the CVACs are simply contracted administrative agents. I think visas can be arranged directly through the Canadian Consulate. I don't know where you live but maybe you should contact the nearest Consulate for additional information: https://travel.gc.ca/assistance/embassies-consulates/united-states Sent from my iPad using Forums
easyboy Posted June 21, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2017 On our Canada/New England cruise, Princess sends email reminding passengers of the need for visa in Canada for countries not exempt. A similar reminder is on the passenger cruise personalizer. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Forums mobile app
